St. John Vianney High School
Situated on a beautiful 37-acre campus in Kirkwood, Missouri, near the intersection of I-44 and I-270, St. John Vianney High School, a National School of Excellence, was founded by the Society of Mary (Marianists) in 1960 to provide a quality Catholic education in the Marianist tradition. Vianney is dedicated to forming young men for spiritual, academic and personal excellence.
Vianney is a innovative leader in education, employing brain-research based strategies for how boys learn best, in a unique academic structure called the Two-semester, College-style Schedule. Students take four courses per semester in a block style, completing full courses at a time in the way colleges do. This allows students to narrow their focus, and creates more in-depth learning opportunities. It challenges students with a fast pace, and with 32 credits to graduate, there are endless opportunities for college-credit and exploring our vast curriculum. Teachers have been trained with techniques to create a hands-on, engaging classroom that motivates boys to succeed and cultivates a lifelong love of learning.
Vianney places a high emphasis beyond academics, however, seeking to develop our students into men of character and accomplishment. This is done through our comprehensive leadership program, consisting of classes within the curriculum and co-curricular programs aimed at including our entire student body, not just a select few. In addition, our Catholic, Marianist education creates an atmosphere of values and service, which are modeled by our dedicated faculty and staff.
High school is a place to explore your passions, interests and abilities in a unique way. Vianney provides over 40 clubs and activities to our 561 students, and over 15 athletic programs as well. Our students excel outside of the classroom, with our clubs and athletics garnering local, state and even national awards, recognition and championships.
We hope you see for yourself how Vianney takes all these great aspects of our school, and presents them in a warm, welcoming environment for each and every one of our students.
