Academy of the Sacred Heart
Founded in 1818 by St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, the Academy of the Sacred Heart offers programs for children ages 3 through Grade 8. We educate and inspire the heart and mind of each child to become a courageous and confident leader who knows and loves God, and who reveals that love by serving others. Beyond academic excellence, we seek to inspire in children a lifelong love of learning.
A challenging curriculum offered at all grade levels supports Academy students to grow in the ability to think creatively, critically and reflectively, and develop strong study habits. An emphasis on writing, international language and global studies helps students gain an understanding and confidence about their emerging place in the world. Comprehensive STEM offerings and a 1:1 laptop program assist in the development of skills that today's students will need for their future. Music and the arts, as well as a daily physical education classes, help students further explore and develop their gifts and talents.
A nurturing teacher-student relationship is at the heart of the classroom experience. Small classes enable teachers to engage students in active, student-centered lessons and allow for differentiated instruction. High school administrators and teachers share that Academy graduates are well-prepared academically and are leaders in the classroom- in doing so the value of an exceptional start to your child's education is affirmed.
