Academy of St. Louis
The Academy of St. Louis is an independent, fully accredited Catholic school in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. It specializes in autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and developmental delays.
The Academy of St. Louis fills the gap for students who do not develop and learn well in other special education schools or classrooms. The Academy of St. Louis will individualize the education plan for each student, which allows the student to accelerate in their areas of strength and provides the time to move through their areas of difficulty. Detailed accommodations are possible due to the 3:1 student-to-staff ratio. Most students will transition into a 2- or 4-year college, while others enter technical schools or gainful employment after graduating from the Academy.
The Academy of St. Louis also collaborates with the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC-IHD) to create a one-of-a-kind transition program that provides a framework and tools for each high school student to help them reach their full potential and find happiness in their adult life.
