Track & Field Coach Chaminade College Preparatory School
Chaminade College Preparatory School seeks a dedicated Assistant Track Coach to lead our throwing program in alignment with the school’s Marianist mission and values. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the track, fostering personal growth, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others. The ideal candidate would have experience in all three fields, shot put, discus and javelin.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executes strategies for engaging student-athletes in mind, body, and spirit in accord with Chaminade’s mission statement
- Provides instruction to team members aimed at skill development and growth over the season
- Promotes sportsmanship among coaches and players throughout all levels of the program
- Engages with the student-athletes regarding academic status and eligibility requirements
- Comply with MSHSAA guidelines
- Partners with medical staff to ensure completion of physical exams, parental consent forms, waivers, and insurance forms
- Communicates practice and competition schedule to track athletes and families in a timely fashion
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of the sport and possesses strategies on how to communicate and convey that understanding to the student-athletes and coaches in all levels of the program
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills
- Ability to appropriately communicate with student-athletes, parents, and coaches
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one year of coaching experience
