Substitute School Nurse New City School

New City School seeks an inspiring, nurturing, and compassionate Substitute
School Nurse. In the absence of the school’s full-time nurse, this individual
will be responsible for supporting the physical, mental, emotional and social
health of students and their success in the learning process. The substitute
school nurse will also support student success by providing health care
assessment, identifying problems, planning, intervention, follow-up and
evaluation for all students within the school setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Uphold the nurses code of ethics while practicing in the school setting
• Provide first-aid and emergency care to the school community
• Provide health related assessments and monitoring as necessary
• Assist with management of care for students with special health care
needs/risks
• Administer medications according to school policy to students
• Maintain health room visit logs and related records
• Assist in maintaining a safe school environment

QUALIFICATIONS
• RN Licensure and CPR Certification
• Exceptional communication skills
• Additional training will be provided upon hire
