JOB OPENING: PART-TIME VOCAL MUSIC INSTRUCTOR

POSITION START DATE: Immediate Opening

JOB SUMMARY:  Rosati-Kain Academy (RKA) is seeking a dynamic and outstanding Vocal Music Instructor to perpetuate the phenomenal reputation and success of the RKA Performing Arts Department. The responsibilities of the Vocal Music Instructor encompass teaching and leading the R-K Voices, Advanced Chorus, and First Year Chorus. Likewise, the Vocal Music Instructor will  provide individual vocal coaching, assist the Theater Director with musicals, and prepare for and provide vocal accompaniment for all-school masses as well as various evening performances for our school community and stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate and engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and standards.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom that promotes diversity, mutual respect, integrity and accountability.
  • Establish a good rapport with students and their families.
  • Communicate with students and their families regularly.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of student performance and progress.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, providing guidance and support in their pursuit of academic and personal goals.
  • Participate in mandatory faculty/staff and other ongoing professional development opportunities to remain abreast of best practices in education.
  • Assist in supervising students as assigned and uphold RKA policies and expectations.
  • Collaborate with faculty/staff and administrators as a team player.
  • Model behaviors that are consistent with the values of the RKA Community Standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Music or Music Education required.
  • Extensive teaching experience and expertise in Vocal Music.
  • Commitment to utilizing diverse, inclusive, and innovative music curriculum.
  • Possess an ability to work in, embrace, and meet the needs of a diverse school community of students, families, faculty/staff and alumnae.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

SALARY RANGE:

  • $25,000 to $45,000 depending on education, experience and time commitment.
