Position Overview:

Job Title: Nursery Staff

Position Type: Short Term - Work the remainder of the 25/26 school year. 

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:00pm

 

The position is currently open and will go through May 22, 2026. 

 

Pay: Hourly - $20/hour 

Location: South City Community School; 4926 Reber Pl. St. Louis, MO 63139

Our Nursery program is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for our faculty & staff children ages 0-3. For the 2025-2026 school year, South City Community School will serve six (6) faculty & staff children ranging in age from 4 months to 2 years. The ideal candidate will work alongside our Nursery staff. This position reports directly to the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Child Supervision: 

    • Provide attentive and nurturing care to children during scheduled hours.

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the faculty & staff nursery.

    • Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play.

  • Daily Activities: 

    • Plan and implement educational and recreational activities.

    • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children to learn and play.

    • Follow a structured daily schedule.

  • Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's day.

    • Collaborate with other daycare staff to maintain consistency in care and activities.

  • Safety and Hygiene:

    • Maintain a clean and safe environment for children.

    • Follow health and safety protocols, including proper hygiene practices.

  • Documentation:

    • Keep records of daily activities, incidents, and any relevant information.

    • Report any concerns or issues to the Nursery supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery/daycare or similar setting.

  • A genuine passion for working with children and creating a positive learning environment.

  • Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
