Position Overview:
Job Title: Nursery Staff
Position Type: Part Time; Monday, Wednesday, Friday (January 12, 2026 - May 22, 2026) remainder of 2025/2026 school year.
Hours: avg 18-20 hours/week with the possibility of increased hours if available to sub in Extended Day &/or Nursery.
Mondays: 8:00am - 1:30pm, Wednesdays: 8:00am - 1:30pm, Fridays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
1st Wednesday of the month (Feb, Mar, Apr, May) hours 8:00am - 4:00pm
Pay: Hourly - $17.68/hour
Location: South City Community School; 4926 Reber Pl. St. Louis, MO 63139
Our Nursery program is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for our faculty & staff children ages 0-3. For the 2025-2026 school year, South City Community School will serve six (6) faculty & staff children ranging in age from 2+ months to 2 years. The ideal candidate will work alongside our Nursery team. This position reports directly to the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations.
Responsibilities:

Child Supervision:
-
Provide attentive and nurturing care to children during scheduled hours.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the faculty & staff nursery.

Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play.

Daily Activities:
-
Plan and implement educational and recreational activities.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children to learn and play.

Follow a structured daily schedule.

Communication:
-
Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's day.

Collaborate with other daycare staff to maintain consistency in care and activities.

Safety and Hygiene:
-
Maintain a clean and safe environment for children.

Follow health and safety protocols, including proper hygiene practices.

Documentation:

Keep records of daily activities, incidents, and any relevant information.

Report any concerns or issues to the Nursery supervisor.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children in a nursery/daycare or similar setting.

A genuine passion for working with children and creating a positive learning environment.

Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
