JOB OPENING: Full Time Math Instructor
POSITION START DATE: August 5, 2025
JOB SUMMARY: Rosati-Kain Academy (RKA) is seeking a dynamic math teacher who will be responsible for instructing and empowering our students to build confidence and competence in algebra by teaching foundational concepts through engaging, rigorous lessons and real-world applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Provide instruction that helps students build a strong foundation in algebraic reasoning, linear and quadratic functions, inequalities, polynomials, and systems of equations.
● Demonstrate a deep understanding of mathematical practices, including problem-solving, modeling, and data interpretation.
● Guide students in recognizing patterns, making generalizations, and applying algebraic thinking to real-world problems.
● Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying levels of mathematical understanding and to support diverse learning styles.
● Instruct students in the appropriate use of graphing calculators, algebra software, and other technology that enhances conceptual understanding.
● Maintain a well-organized classroom environment and ensure that mathematical tools and resources are used effectively and responsibly.
● Evaluate each student’s growth in conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and ability to apply algebraic reasoning independently and collaboratively.
● Design opportunities for students to communicate their mathematical thinking through problem sets, projects, or presentations.
● Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
● Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field required.
● Extensive teaching experience and expertise in algebra-focused instruction preferred.
● Commitment to utilizing diverse, inclusive, and innovative mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
● Possess an ability to work in, embrace, and meet the needs of a diverse school community of students, families, faculty/staff, and alumnae.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
