Villa Duchesne is seeking a mission-centered French & Global Studies Teacher for our Lower School for the upcoming school year. The Lower School French & Global Studies Teacher inspires curiosity, cultural awareness, and confident communication in students from Junior Kindergarten 3 through Grade 5. This educator designs and delivers a rich, developmentally appropriate program that immerses students in the French language while introducing them to global cultures, traditions, geography, and shared human experiences. This full-time, 10-month position follows a daily schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm, supporting instructional time, lesson preparation, collaboration with colleagues, engagement in the broader life of the school community, and supervision of Acorn Club, Villa’s complimentary aftercare program for students in grades JK3-5, until 4:00 pm.

Through immersive language experiences and meaningful connections to global themes, the Lower School French & Global Studies Teacher helps students develop foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French while cultivating empathy, respect, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives. This role fosters a joyful, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to take linguistic risks, engage in dialogue, and see themselves as active members of a global community, while also contributing to the vibrant life of the Lower School.
