Learning Consultant St. Mary's South Side Catholic High School

St. Mary’s South Side Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Learning Consultant for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must have a degree in Special Education. The Learning Consultant serves as the primary support for students with diagnosed learning needs as well as their classroom teachers.

Students are encouraged to explore and grow not only intellectually, but also emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To review the diagnostic educational evaluation reports on all present and transfer students
  • To refer students to St. Louis Public Schools or a private agency who are in need of a current evaluation
  • To develop an individualized learning profile on each student and modify them as necessary
  • To meet with the students' teachers to review and explain the learning profile and recommend specific instructional strategies and/or accommodations/modifications
  • To serve as a resource to the students, teachers and parents
  • To attend staffing and IEP meetings held by other agencies, such as the Special School District or the St. Louis Public Schools
  • To keep parents and faculty informed as to current educational, medical, and social interventions that may aid in the success of the student
  • To meet with the student regarding learning strategies that will improve his academic success and monitor progress accordingly
  • To screen other students experiencing school failure for the presence of a learning disability
  • To serve as a viable member of the Care Team
