We are seeking a passionate English Teacher who is committed to helping students develop strong reading, writing, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Position Overview
EYC Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Full-Time English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will support middle school and high school students in developing literacy, analytical thinking, effective communication, and a lifelong appreciation for language and literature.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a flexible, blended-learning environment where teachers build meaningful relationships with students and help them achieve academic success through personalized support and instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Provide instruction and academic support in middle school and high school English Language Arts courses
- Support students in reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing development, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
- Monitor student progress and provide timely intervention and support when needed
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective written and verbal communication
- Utilize Edmentum and other instructional resources to support student learning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding academic progress
- Collaborate with staff to support student success and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Contribute positively to the culture, mission, and vision of EYC Academy
Preferred Areas of Expertise
Candidates should be comfortable supporting students in one or more of the following areas:
- English Language Arts (Grades 6–12)
- Literature and Literary Analysis
- Composition and Writing
- Grammar and Language Usage
- Creative Writing
- Research and Academic Writing
- Public Speaking and Communication
- College and Career Readiness English
Experience supporting students in both traditional and online learning environments is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, Secondary Education, Literature, Communications, or a related field
- Teaching certification or licensure preferred but not required
- Previous experience teaching middle school and/or high school English Language Arts is highly desirable
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Commitment to student growth and individualized learning
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment
- Commitment to continuous professional growth
