Fourth Grade Teacher Andrews Academy, Lake Saint Louis

Andrews Academy Lake Saint Louis has begun the search for a dynamic and engaging Fourth-Grade teacher to join our creative and collaborative team of educators.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate skill and passion for designing lessons with an intent to spark interest, engagement, critical thinking and collaboration.

We are a staff of lifelong learners as we collaborate to inspire our students through real world hands-on Project Based Learning experiences. Our Fourth-Grade Chicken Tenders tend to our small flock of chickens during PBL. Learning to map the United States by memory is a year-long process that encourage the development of perseverance, logic, of course, geography.

Guiding students to make connections across the past and present to determine the causes and outcomes of historical events is enriched and supported by reading and discussing historical fiction, partaking in relative field experiences, developing empathy and problem-solving during simulations, and acquiring deeper knowledge through the examination of a variety of documents, images, and other valid resources. Our Fourth Grade's focus is an immersive study of the time period from the Alamo through The Second Industrial Revolution.

While much of our curriculum is designed by the masterful members of our faculty and staff, knowledge and/or experience with Words Their Way and/or Envision Math is a plus.

Qualifications

- A degree in education -Classroom experience - A passion for guiding children to learn deeply through well-crafted lessons and experiences - The ambition to learn alongside your students through PBL
- Classroom management skills
- Lesson planning expertise
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in literacy education, history, and math
- Ability to work with diverse student populations
- Knowledge of curriculum development and learning technology
- Excellent writing skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
