St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School is an independent school serving children from infancy through sixth grade in the heart of St. Louis. Who We’re Looking For 

St. Michael’s seeks a flexible, creative, and reflective educator to join our dedicated faculty as a lead teacher in a combined 3rd–4th grade classroom. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster deep thinking, and guide children in both academic and personal growth. A successful candidate will share our belief in nurturing the whole child and will approach teaching as both a calling and a collaboration. 

Responsibilities 

As a member of our community, you will: 

  • Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with learning benchmarks 

  • Inspire wonder through experiential and place-based learning, including field experiences in our neighborhood and city 

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and a cohesive academic program 

  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and support diverse learners 

  • Cultivate a classroom rooted in inclusion, respect, and joy, where every student feels known and valued 

  • Communicate thoughtfully with families and colleagues, celebrating growth and partnering for student success 

  • Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and track student progress 
     

Qualifications 

We would love to talk to you if you: 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (certification or equivalent experience preferred) 

  • Demonstrate a passion for student-centered, inquiry-based teaching 

  • Bring creativity, warmth, and adaptability to your teaching practice 

  • Value collaboration and shared responsibility within a professional learning community 

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with students, families, and colleagues 

  • Are excited to contribute to a learning environment shaped by Episcopal values and inclusive spiritual formation
