St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory school in Frontenac, Missouri sponsored by St. Joseph Educational Ministries. Position Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and executing philanthropic support for St. Joseph’s Academy. This individual will focus on donor relations, prospect management, renewing and upgrading gifts and developing a comprehensive planned giving program. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of donor prospects, and help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals through a relationship with St. Joseph’s Academy. The position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships through a portfolio of prospects, overseeing and personally executing through a moves management system, leading to solicitations and the closing of gifts that align with the school’s priorities and individual fundraising goals and expectations.
- Develop and maintain donor profiles, plans and proposals.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors for the benefit of SJA, including the recognition of scholarship donors, major and planned gift societies.
- Work with Director of Institutional Advancement, the President and volunteer committees to cultivate relationships with prospective donors and deliver solicitation proposals.
- Identify planned giving prospects among assigned donors and partner with Alumnae Relations and the Director of Advancement on solicitations strategies.
- Partner with the Marketing team to create constituent awareness of planned giving programs and opportunities.
- Utilize systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including donor database and wealth screening tools.
- Develop a plan for planned giving outreach.
- Other duties as assigned to foster a philanthropic culture of giving.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of five or more years fundraising experience; planned giving and capital campaign experience plus.
- Demonstrated skill in gift solicitation and results, and portfolio management.
- Goal-oriented, self-starter, motivated to meet and exceed portfolio expectations.
- The ability to respond to goals and targets for success, track and report progress.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to represent the school to external constituents in a professional, poise and knowledgeable manner, effectively supporting and communicating the mission.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT donor software or similar fundraising software a plus.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented department.
- Willing and able to work evening and weekend hours as needed for meetings and events.
