Adolescent Guide (Middle School Teacher) Chesterfield Montessori School

Chesterfield Montessori School (CMS) is searching for an enthusiastic, compassionate, creative educational professional to join our team of Montessorians as an Adolescent Guide (Teacher).

This role is a unique opportunity to collaborate with the administration in re-launching our Adolescent program with a small group of students. Our team helps students realize their unique potential through individualized, hands on, evidence-based learning.

The ideal Adolescent Guide will be a creative multi-disciplinarian with an ability to create and deliver curriculum across a wide variety of subject areas. Specialists will also be brought in for certain subjects and experiences, depending on the experience of the full-time Guide and the needs of the students we have each year.

While the program will launch next fall (August, 2025), the Guide position will begin during the current school year. The 2024/2025 planning  role may be either part or full-time depending on the individual we hire.

We offer an extraordinary working environment, with supportive colleagues and a wonderful international community of families in a beautiful facility located on five acres in the western suburbs of St. Louis County, Missouri. We also have a seven-acre Land Lab for the Adolescent students to use for ecological and other studies.

We will also consider those with other AMI training and/or experience with Middle School students in other environments.

Our school serves children in the Toddler (16 months to 3 years), Primary (2.5 to 6 years) and Elementary (1st through 6th grade) environments. Beginning fall, 2025 we will also serve 7th and 8th grade students.

This job requires experience working with children, a love for Adolescents, emotional awareness, a sense of humor, patience, compassion, and outstanding interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
