2nd Grade Teacher Central Christian School

Central Christian School is seeking a passionate educator to serve our school as a 2nd Grade Teacher. This position will be responsible for teaching core subjects to a homeroom of students (language arts, math, science, social studies, and Bible.)

All candidates should have a commitment to Christ, a love for children, and a desire to help move Central Christian School's mission and vision forward. This individual will be responsible for the educational experience of students including the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum and program that promotes the spiritual, cognitive, and social-emotional growth of students.

Qualifications:

  • A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Personally affirm
  • A member of a local, Bible-teaching Christian church
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Teaching Certification
  • Two or more years of elementary teaching experience, preferred

  • Experience developing Project-Based Learning (PBL) experiences or a willingness to learn
  • Strong ability to connect with children

  • Understanding of or willingness to learn curriculum development utilizing Understanding by Design
  • Willingness to plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate an active learning environment
  • Desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Ability to interact professionally with parents and school community members
  • Commitment to professional development and growth
  • Ability to create a classroom community where all students feel safe, welcome, and respected
