Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Spanish teacher to join our Specials team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the engaging and enriching learning experiences promoting  cultural appreciation and language proficiency in a Spanish language FLEX program at SCCS. This position reports directly to the Asst. Head of School for Teaching and Learning. 

Employee Status & Compensation: 

  • Status: .4250 FTE; 10-month position, 17 hours/week (Mon- Thurs; 9:00am - 1:00pm; includes instructional & planning time)

  • Salary Range: $17,000 - $23,000 commensurate with education and qualified spanish teaching experience

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Create or refine content specific scope & sequence PreK-8th grade with accompanying grade level plans.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with curriculum standards and educational objectives.
  • Design learning experiences that foster creativity, cultural awareness and language acquisition.
  • Create a positive and respectful environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative and supportive learning community.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred
  • Valid teaching certification for foreign language is preferred 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
