Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our Middle School team for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will embrace the Charlotte Mason philosophy, demonstrating a deep understanding of its principles and a commitment to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth of each student. This position reports directly to the Asst. Head of School for Teaching & Learning. 

Employee Status & Compensation: 

Start Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2025 

Grade Level: 5th & 6th with a dedicated 5th grade homeroom assignment. Subjects assigned (ELA, Science, Social Studies or Math) will depend on the new hire’s qualifications and experience.  

Status: 1.0 FTE; 10-month position, 40 hours/week based on class schedule 

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 commensurate with education and qualified experience for 1.0 (or the equivalent of) full time employees

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons that incorporate Charlotte Mason distinctives, engage curiosity and promote a love of learning.

  • Contribute to continuous curriculum & assessment development in your grade/content both in planning time and collaborative work time.

  • Lead your assigned homeroom in Christian fellowship, formation and reconciliation.

  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments.

  • Manage student behavior effectively and address disciplinary issues in accordance with school policies. 

  • Foster a warm classroom atmosphere built on felt safety, order, and clear expectations & routines.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, academic or behavior concerns and classroom updates. 

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

  • Valid teaching certification is preferred 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
