Camp Towering Pines for Boys & Woodland for Girls

Session: June 21-August 3, 2025

Summers at Woodland & Towering Pines are filled with face-to-face connections, a large variety of age appropriate activities in the great outdoors and time to fully engage in the process of learning, playing and growing. The campers call it fun! Parents & alumni see the development of essential life skills - leadership, persistence & teamwork to name a few.

Why are we still operating after 80 years???
Towering Pines was established in 1946 by father & son Educators who believed children needed experiential learning beyond the classroom in order to develop and grow into confident individuals. Our camp program fosters individual growth through purposeful play & skill development in a supportive away-from-home environment.

Why do campers, staff and alum come back?
Campers & staff would say 'their friends" and being able to do 'fun outdoor activities.' Alumni have realized that their camp experiences enabled them to be more capable people in adult life with a unique ability to participate fully, get along with a variety of people and adjust to the changing world.

Why do you think your camp has lasted this long/what makes your camp special?
Owned and operated by the same family of Educators for all 80 years, we've developed a strong alumni base through consistent leadership and positive outcomes. Camp has been able to be viable for going on 4 generations by keeping up with societal shifts and facility improvements without compromising the basic premiss that children still need the same growing up experiences they did 50+ years ago.
