Teacher Academy of St. Louis

A private, Catholic K-12 school serving unique students who are unsuccessful in traditional schools seeks a highly qualified, self-motivated, student-centered special education teacher to join its professional learning community—3:1 student-to-teacher ratio with paraprofessional classroom support.

Job Summary:

The successful team member will have an in-depth understanding of the teaching and learning process needed to support students with autism and learning disabilities. They will also be familiar with ABA therapies and trauma-informed behavior models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (master’s preferred) in special education (social/emotional disabilities) with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with certification for teaching Special Education.
  • Two-year minimum teaching experience as a lead teacher within a special education classroom.
  • He or she must be a compassionate, positive educator who challenges and assists students in meeting their academic, social, and emotional goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others is essential.
