Substitute Teachers New City School
New City School, a leading, progressive independent school for students ages three through grade six and located in the Central West End of St. Louis, is seeking candidates interested in serving as substitute teachers.
Position Overview
New City School seeks creative and nurturing substitute teachers who can instruct and lead student learning in the absence of a regular teacher and in accordance with the goals, directives and curriculum of New City School. This position is ideal for retired teachers and those just beginning their career in teaching who wish to gain more classroom experience with children in an elementary school setting. Opportunities for substitute teaching are available in a range of grades and disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
- Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
- Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
- Perform other duties as directed by school administration
