School Nurse Central Christian School
Central Christian School is seeking an RN or LPN to serve as one of our part-time School Nurses. The days and hours of this position are Mondays/Fridays, 10:00am - 2:00pm. All candidates should have a commitment to Christ, a love for children, a nurturing and caring disposition, and alignment with Central Christian School's mission and vision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Personally affirm Central’s Statement of Faith
- A member of a local, Bible-teaching Christian church
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two or more years of nursing experience, preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for on site-walk-in student health room
- Maintain electronic health records for all student visits.
- Be responsible for upkeep, administration, and recording of all medications to students
- Keep CPR, first aid, and nursing credentials up to date
- Maintain AED - monthly checks, appropriate equipment in stock
- Stock and maintain epinephrine for emergency use
COLLABORATE WITH OUR OTHER PART-TIME NURSE ON THE FOLLOWING:
- Maintaining all health immunization records
- Receiving current physical exams for all new students and students entering Senior Kindergarten
- Receiving student medications and appropriate release forms for administration at school
- Receiving student health update forms (asthma, food allergies,, etc)
- Updating faculty/staff daily regarding student health needs in classroom, as appropriate
- Collaborating with parents regarding student health needs and goals
- Training faculty/staff on care of students with asthma, food allergies, and other health needs
- Providing each classroom with essential first aid supplies
- Purchasing and keeping medicine and first aid supplies well stocked
