The College School is an independent school of approximately 225 students Preschool through Eighth Grade in St. Louis, Missouri, with a focus on interdisciplinary, experiential, and outdoor education. We seek a highly skilled and creative individual who knows the importance of cultivating relationships with students and families in order to empower their success, and who understands the value of our approach.

Position Summary: The Office and Student Health Associate serves as a welcoming first point of contact for students, families, employees, and visitors while overseeing the school’s daily front office and routine student health operations. This position supports student safety and well-being; maintains accurate health and administrative records; and coordinates with families, school employees, healthcare professionals, dining service, and emergency responders as needed.

Front Office

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and courteously;
  • Monitor school entrances and respond to door access requests;
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs and distribute visitor badges;
  • Assist with student arrival, dismissal, early departure, and late arrival procedures;
  • Receive and distribute mail, packages, and other deliveries;
  • Assist with attendance records, parent communications, copying, filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned;
  • Order and restock all office supplies for the front office and faculty/staff;
  • Assist with the maintenance and restock of the postage machine, copier machine, shred bin, and laminator; 
  • Maintain student and family confidentiality;
  • Open the office by 7:50 a.m. and close the office at 3:20 p.m.

Student Health

  • Serve as the primary point of contact in the health office during the school day;

  • Provide basic first aid for minor illness & injury in accordance with school policies;
  • Administer medications as authorized by physician and parent documentation and in accordance with applicable laws and school procedures;
  • Maintain confidential student health records, medication logs, emergency care plans, and health alerts;
  • Maintain Health Office supplies and medication inventory;
  • Coordinate annual health forms, immunization records, and required health documentation;
  • Serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team and assist with emergency preparedness;
  • Assist with communicable disease reporting and health communications;
  • Prepare, track, check out, and check in EpiPens, authorized medications, emergency care plans, and day-trip medical bags. Confirm that medications and emergency supplies are current and provide trip leaders with approved student health information and response instructions;
  • Collaborate with FLIK Dining Services, families, teachers, and school administrators to support students with food allergies, dietary restrictions, and other health-related nutritional needs;

Applicants should have:

  • A desire to manage multiple responsibilities, learn new things, and be friendly and compassionate;
  • Strong customer service skills coupled with professionalism and tact;
  • Experience in Preschool-8th educational settings, preferably in the independent school market; and/or experience in health care settings;
  • A collaborative spirit and strong team ethic;
  • CNA or LPN preferred.
