Journalism and Publications Teacher (Upper School) Villa Duchesne

Villa Duchesne is seeking a part-time Journalism and Publications Teacher for our Middle (grades 6-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12). Villa Duchesne’s communication courses emphasize listening and research skills as integral components to effective presentation skills. Elective courses in publications (Yearbook, Tower Talk newspaper, and Villa Ink literary magazine) emphasize collaborative approaches for a defined product. All courses rely heavily on workshop and seminar-based models. This position requires that the candidate has a conferred bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism (master’s degree preferred) and has previous teaching experience at a middle or high school level.    

The ideal candidate will also:

●        possess a commitment to using a variety of pedagogical approaches and differentiation strategies in the classroom;

●        have experience using Google Classroom;

●        have experience with Adobe software, including InDesign and Photoshop;

●        be able to use technology to build understanding;

●        be dedicated to the success of each student.

This teacher will be a member of the English Department.
