Early Childhood & Greenhouse Support, Full-time
The Early Childhood Program at The College School (www.thecollegeschool.org) is hiring a full-time educator to support our early childhood classrooms. Our program is built upon strong pedagogical understandings of the Reggio Emilia Approach, experiential education, and social constructivist philosophy. We strive to cultivate a community of families and educators where inclusivity, collaboration, and a joyful love of learning are woven into the fabric of daily life at school.
The position involves:
- Comfortability teaching various discipline areas, including facilitation of Greenhouse curriculum
- Joyfully and wisely guiding students through personal and intellectual discovery
- Collaborating with the teachers on design and implementation of an engaging, age-appropriate, thematically-integrated, experiential curriculum
- Actively participating in and contributing to the school’s professional community and curricular goals through meetings, committees, and professional development
- Salary that is commensurate with experience
Our ideal candidate is an innovative, passionate advocate of young children who is dedicated to growing their own work in the field of early childhood education. We are searching for candidates who are strong communicators, partners, and collaborators with students, families, and colleagues.
Applicants should have:
- Willingness to facilitate Greenhouse curriculum for pre k- 2nd grade
- Exceptional fluency and adeptness in understanding developmental growth, age-appropriate learning experiences, and the daily needs of our youngest learners
- Degrees or certifications in related fields
- A lifelong love of children and learning
- A desire to work hard, to learn new things, and to be compassionate
- Classroom teaching experience (preferred)
- A desire to contribute to a culture of excellence among students and colleagues
- Experience with or belief in outdoor education pedagogy and practice
