BEFORE SCHOOL:

2 staff members for Before Care: 7:30am - 8:30am on M, T, Th, F

6 staff members for Late Start Wednesday: 7:30am - 9:30am (W only)

AFTER SCHOOL:

6 staff members for Aftercare: 12:30pm - 3:30pm M-F

3 staff members for Latecare: 3:15pm - 5:30pm M-F

Hourly rate: $18.56 - $20/hour depending on experience
Position Summary: As a staff member for the Extended Day Aftercare program, you will be responsible for providing supervision, enrichment activities, and a safe environment for students after their specific grade level regular school day has ended. You will ensure that students have a positive and engaging experience while in the extended day program, fostering an environment of rest, social interaction, creativity, and relaxation.
While the responsibilities below represent the primary role of the Extended Day Program Staff, the list is not exhaustive and may require additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Asst. HOS for Finance & Operations.
Primary Responsibilities:

Welcome students to after care with enthusiasm and positivity, ensuring a smooth transition from the regular school day.

Supervise and engage with students during after care hours, maintaining a restful, safe and supportive environment at all times.

Plan and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities, first providing the opportunity for rest and then activities such as arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and quiet time for reading or relaxation.

Provide snacks and refreshments to students as needed, ensuring compliance with any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Foster positive social interactions among students, encouraging teamwork, cooperation, and respect for others.

Communicate regularly with student leadership and parents/guardians regarding any concerns, issues, or special needs of students.

Maintain a clean and organized after care/late care areas, including setup and cleanup of activity materials and equipment.

Follow school policies and procedures, including safety protocols and behavior management guidelines.

Collaborate with other Extended Day staff members to ensure a smooth transition between the program and school hours.
Qualifications

Enthusiasm for working with children in an after school or recreational setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.

Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to assist with various tasks as needed.

Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks, such as standing, walking, lifting, and carrying.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
