Whitfield School

College Prep Meets Character. Founded in 1952 in the spirit of the progressive education movement, Whitfield has long valued character education as an important compliment to its' robust college preparatory curriculum.

Whitfield School is an independent, coeducational college preparatory day school for grades 6–12, located on a 26–acre campus in suburban St. Louis. Whitfield cultivates ethical, confident, successful students in a community of innovation, collaboration, and trust. A rigorous curriculum provides a strong liberal arts education, and electives allow students to pursue interests in science, language, humanities, and art. Whitfield’s demanding academic program, which includes eight advanced placement courses, coupled with the support of a dedicated, world-class faculty prepares graduates for both the college experience and life beyond. With an average class size of 14 and a school size of 425, Whitfield has a close-knit academic environment where each student’s strengths are known and cultivated. Students are encouraged to take part in activities including visual and performing arts, 32 athletic teams, 30+ clubs, organizations, and affinity groups and community service.
