Political polarization is a national challenge, one that awaits our children beyond their schooling. This virtual workshop, designed specifically for parents, shares research to establish that while the country is politically polarized, our polarization is not as acute as we tend to think; there’s more common ground than we imagine. The session will describe how schools might use their educational program to help students ease polarization, and it will share tools and strategies for parents to position themselves as the bridge-building models our children need us to be. The workshop will arm participants with a greater understanding of political polarization and a sense of optimism that we parents can successfully support our children as they navigate a seemingly fractured society.
