Abiding Savior Lutheran Church

  • 6/14/2021 to 8/6/2021

Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is again offering the LOVE TO KNOW SUMMER CAMP—a fun-filled learning experience for children ages 3-12. This camp, centered in a Christian environment, is sure to please children and parents alike. The amazing hours and the love of experienced, dedicated, and educated directors and counselors creates the perfect experience for the ones you love the most! THEMED WEEKS and GUEST SPEAKERS will allow all children to experience different activities each week.

THIS CAMP IS CONDUCTED IN A PEANUT AND TREE-NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT.

ALL DIRECTORS ARE CERTIFIED IN FIRST-AID, CPR, AND EPI!

5-DAY AND 3-DAY PLANS WITH HOURS FOR THE WORKING FAMILY: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Because we realize that most camps have short hours that cause an issue for working parents, we are offering amazing hours with flexible drop-off and pick-up times to best accommodate your needs. We do ask that all children arrive to camp no later than 9am every morning and would like them to stay with us until 4pm if possible. This allows us to plan organized activities for everyone!

    5-Day Program: $165/week | 3-Day Program: $115/week

SPECIAL HALF-DAY CAMPS: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM (AVAILABLE ALL SUMMER!)

Don’t need full-time camp? These half-day camps are specially designed to accommodate the children that typically attend the

Summer Camp offered by the E.C. Ministry. This is a great way to offer a fun play date with friends while participating in the same great, themed activities.

    Half-Day Camp 5-Days: $95/week | Half-Day Camp 3-Days: $65/week

    FAQs:

Can I choose which days my child attends for the three day option? Yes! See enrollment form below and select which days you’d like.

Are the children split up based on age level? Yes! We do split up the kids based on age level. We have 3-5 year olds together and then ages 6+ in another room. Based on our number of campers per week will determine if we break those groups up even more, but that is typically how we split it up.

Is there a snack? We do have snack time in the morning right after our Bible lesson and before we start our weekly themed activities. Snack time normally falls around 9:45-10am. We start lunch at 12pm and each child should bring their own packed lunch.

Forsyth School

  • 6/14/2021 to 8/13/2021

    Discover Summer!

Forsyth Summer Discovery strikes the perfect balance between structure and (age-appropriate!) freedom, offering children age 3 through Grade 6 a largely “unplugged” experience with a neighborhood feel.

Different weekly themes allow campers to become engineers, artists, cyclists, filmmakers, performers, climbers, designers, scientists, photographers, explorers, and more! Summer Discovery is a place to play, try, make, be, and do—on the high ropes or obstacle course, in the science lab, on the stage, in the garden, or on the field.

Safety abounds at Summer Discovery! Small camp cohorts are led by dedicated faculty and counselors spaced out among the eight buildings on Forsyth’s one-of-a-kind, 4.5-acre campus. Faculty, staff, and campers of all ages are required to wear masks.

Visit ForsythSchool.org/Summer-Discovery to explore our 2021 season—including weekly camp themes, instructors, and safety protocols—and register online. Extended Day is available; additional fees apply.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, camp details are subject to change. Visit the website for up-to-date information.

South City Community School

  • 6/14/2021 to 7/23/2021

Students entering PK4 through seventh grade are invited to join us for SCCS Summer Camp 2021! All are welcome—enrollment is open to non-SCCS students. We are offering four weeks of in-person day camp this summer following our school-year pandemic protocols.

The camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the option to enroll in daily Stay & Play from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Campers will bring their own snack and lunch to camp.

Each of the four camp weeks will offer age-appropriate activities with unique offerings each week. The camp day is a balance of fine motor and gross motor play (for example, sports and handwork) and campers will be encouraged and challenged to try new skills and engage with their interests.

At SCCS we see Summer Camp as a time to come together in a more relaxed, fun way while still cultivating the love of learning. Summer programs are also a great opportunity for newly enrolled SCCS students to get familiar with the school community and start building meaningful relationships with other campers and staff. We hope you will join us!

TJ students consistently score in the top 2% nationwide in standardized examinations. Did you know that TJ boasts an average SAT® score of 1460 and an average ACT® score of 31? Join Summer Scholars for SAT® and ACT® prep. This camp is for rising 9th through 11th graders.

So how will these workshops be different from other classes or a test prep book?

Our faculty will work with students (both virtual and in person) to highlight individual strategies, focusing on metacognition, time management, and the development of study plans and goals. Each workshop will include homework, emailed out the week before the session. The two hour Saturday class will review the homework problems, pulling out examples to illustrate tricks and employ strategies. Students will then have a chance to review their performance and develop a plan for future study with teacher input.

Students are welcome to take only the workshops for topics with which they struggle, or to sign up for all four. The program culminates in a full length practice test (both SAT and ACT options). The program uses released tests from the college board and ACT and provides students with a full analysis report including scores, areas of weakness, and suggested study plans and strategies.

Washington University in St. Louis

  • 6/27/2021 to 7/10/2021

In this institute, high school students will not only develop storytelling and creative writing skills; they will also experience the impact of a university community on their writing. As they experiment in a number of creative writing genres (photo essays, poetry, memoir, scripts), they'll share projects with other students—and reflect on their projects. Morning workshop will be a place where we experiment with writing prompts and experience the power of workshop, as we share our projects. Afternoon workshop will be a place for us to engage with writers from across the Washington University campus. For instance: performing arts faculty might share an exercise in gesture & body language that inspires a line in poetry. Environmental studies faculty will share perspectives that shape fictional descriptions of place. Campus librarians will inspire understanding of history and memoir as we learn from campus archives. Above all, students will experience creative writing at Washington University—and transform their writing as they explore these new perspectives.
